Musical
Background: Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Producer
Do you like your country a little on the rocking side? Shane Prather
brings energy and excitement to country music from Southwest Mississippi (originally from Brookhaven) with gritty guitar laden
originals and a unique vocal sound that transitions well between country and rock songs. His original music is filled
with both southern rock influenced guitar and honky-tonk piano while also sticking to country roots with fiddle, steel guitar,
and banjo. Shane began playing the piano at 7 yrs old and experienced his first public performance at the age of 12.
On stage, Shane will play the electric or acoustic guitar or take the stage armed only with a microphone and a band to back
him. In 2003, Shane moved from Mississippi to Dallas, Texas and was a mobile DJ for Karaoke and private parties in MS,
Dallas, and Nashville. He has played and headlined in large festivals (such as Atwood Music Festival in MS, Mule Day
Festival in TN, CMA music fest in Nashville) as well as numerous bars, clubs, honky-tonks and more in MS, Dallas, TX, Nashville,
TN, Kentucky, Alabama.
The past couple of years have brought many successes for Shane such as: headling music festivals,
playing numerous clubs, releasing the single “Uhh Huh” off the Album “I’m ALL IN” in 2007, and
appearing in CMT videos of David Frizzell (“Water Makes Her Clothes Stay On”), and David St. Romain (On the Road),
and now releasing “ITS SUMMERTIME” on the follow-up to “I’m ALL IN” entitled “THE EP.”
Shane began
his move to Nashville in 2004 and has appeared in many of the clubs in and around town such as Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Legends
Corner Bar, Fiddle and Steel, Market Street Brewery (now McFaddens), Whiskey Island/Red Iguana, Hotel Preston, Mercy Lounge,
Cadillac Ranch, Wild Beaver, Douglas Corner , Crossroads, and Rippys. Shane has appeared in many of the clubs around
the South and in MS (including DIMPLES in Natchez, THE ICE HOUSE in McComb, DOUBLE D in Columbia, and ‘LIL NASHVILLE
in Hattiesburg).
Shane continues to write all of the songs that he has released on both albums. The new release
is currently featuring “Its Summertime.” The 2006 release “I’m All In” featured“Uhh
Huh” and “Love is a Gamble.” Shane is currently in pursuit of a major label recording artist deal.

support! See ya on the road Uhh Huh !
